Graditude

I am grateful for a commute which takes me through pastoral horse farms and trees glowing in oranges, yellows and reds

I am grateful for gratitudinals - even when i don't post I read and I am grounded while at work - it provides perspective and belief in the strength of many women

I am grateful that my Baby Blu was a great addition to the family and not like those horrendous dogs across the street waking everyone up with their continuous barking!

I am grateful for the opportunities to connect and find pleasure in the company of my own family

For inspiration, no matter where it is derived, that action may follow....

today I am grateful for:

a partner I love
having time to plan for my baby in an unhurried way
having a support system around me and optimism that I will add to this in my new location
being almost done with moving
synchronistic emails that seem to address whatever issue I am dealing with

synchronicity
craigslist
every moment without pain or numbness - if only it was comfortably numb - I now understand the irony of that phrase
swedish technology - how did I ever live without it?
that's it for now

today I am grateful for:

  • crisp $100 dollar bills - not as fufilling as my bed, which I already miss very much, but I'm sure I can remedy this.
  • every person who follows up their words with actions - do what you say you will do and don't waste my time with the rest
  • dark morning downpours!
  • every moment that my hand is not numb
  • not getting cellulite or varicose veins like those ladies they talk about in pregnancy books - knock on wood
  • change?

grateful for:

  • plastic sushi freecycled to 4 year old Japanese girl
  • easy times with big companies - hopefully they will carry through my requests correctly
  • my bed - I wish I could cuddle up in it right now but it's fixed to sell
  • other people's excitement
  • being healthy

for the environment...

I'm grateful for...

  • rain
  • people following their passions and making grand comebacks, i.e. Al Gore. He is a glowing example of what can be achieved in the wake of failure.
  • SF & CA policies on the environment
  • having alternative ways to recycle - rather than throwing good stuff into the landfill, post it on freecycle - amazing what people will take!
  • having what I need and working towards consuming only what I need and eliminating wasteful practices

More vs. Waiting

I am grateful for the email I received this morning reminding me that MORE is not better and sometimes it is more appropriate to LISTEN and be grateful.

I am 10,000 times grateful for maternity health coverage that is better than my regular coverage and better than any I could pay for myself or through work. I am grateful for feeling so well taken care of through out this time.

I am grateful for email and the amazing web of the internet. If Al Gore really invented the internet (along with my father) then he should be elected king of the universe! :-) I want to name my baby after him...

I am grateful that I am moving and I am grateful for help with packing and carrying boxes. Interesting to be in this transitional space where everything is disjointed and split between here and there - it is motivating me to go faster but my body won't let me.

I am grateful for the soft October light as we go into winter. The air is crisp but gentle and the colors in thy sky are subtle and brilliant, the balance is perfect and it's all punctuated by Samhain/Halloween - there is nothing like October.

blogging for the environment on Oct. 15...

"October 15, a week from today, is Blog Action Day, for blogger.com and the theme this year is the environment. If you have a blog and want to join in, all you have to do is use that day to post something related to the environment, in whatever way, shape, or form you prefer. You can pick an environmental issue that has meaning for you and let us know why it's important. Organize a beach or neighborhood cleanup and tell us about it. If you're into fiction writing, give us a story with an environmental theme. Have a podcast, videoblog, or photoblog? Join the fun! The idea here is to have a mass effect on public awareness by sharing as many ideas in as many ways as possible."

Any posters to gratitudinals interested and willing to commit to posting about the environment on Oct. 15? Or have any other ideas on how to participate? If so, leave a comment.
today I am grateful for:

my spiritual teachers
rain
letting go
intuition and following it
knowing what's mine and focusing on that
sacred time for me

wishing...

wishing you a very happy birthday casey.
and, hoping your wishes come true, today and beyond!

closeness

today I am grateful for:

  • craigslist & freecycle! freecycle is the coolest thing since sliced bread...whatever.
  • my new bed! now I have two of the best beds in the world and if anyone sleeps over at my new home, they will get to experience the awesomeness of Swedish technology! and I will no longer be uncomfortable - yippee!
  • my awesome darling baby-daddy
  • being in a room full of pregnant women doing yoga! a male friend asked me if I feel bonded to every pregnant woman I see today - he's Jamaican and said he feels an instant bond with other Jamaicans. Unfortunately, there are a lot of skinny bitches out there who are pregnant. It's not like an instant earth-mother/cool pill or something. Marina chicks are still Marina chicks, preggo or not.
  • expiration dates
  • getting rid of stuff
  • George Clooney on David Letterman - he's so cute!

Thursday, October 4, 2007

Today I'm grateful for:

  • more free baby stuff
  • everything falling into place
  • friends who invite me to do cool things
  • my old journals
  • exercise

differences

Today I am grateful that everyone is different and that one person's reality has no bearing on what another may experience - unless they happen to be your mother!

Yesterday, I took this glucose test and had heard it was absolutely disgusting and had made numerous people barf in response to the drink. It was written about extensively on bulletin boards and people gave me advice on which syrupy liquid to drink to make it better. I was dreading it. I got there, chose my poison and it was like drinking a really sweet coke. I left wondering why the hell this is such a big deal for so many people. For me it was a treat to get so much sugar in one shot! I won't even start talking about labor stories...I'm glad we are all different.

I am grateful for my life the way it is.

I am grateful for things that are easy.

I am grateful for my spiritual tools and practices.

I am grateful for my trip to Bolivia & Peru.

I am grateful for opportunities and life lessons.

  • Today I am appreciating all forms of patience; my ability to be patient and also when others are patient with me.
  • I am grateful for having space to take care of myself, for learning how to best take care of myself and grateful for people who listen and give me freedom to be me.
  • I am grateful for trust that everything will be okay.
  • I am grateful that things change. I appreciate the way things are now with the knowledge that everything may be different tomorrow and that will be okay.
  • I appreciate today and am grateful for everything that happened.
  • I am grateful my toilet has been fixed.
  • I am grateful for blissed out toes.
