i'm grateful that i'm not a noisy person without regard for others around me. same goes for being grateful that i'm a person who is aware of others in my surroundings (more often than not...i mean, c'mon, nobody's perfect ;)
i'm grateful for my iPod, even though it's pretty damn anti-social.
i'm grateful for not falling into old patterns...something i seem to be battling on a daily basis, and most days, on a recurring basis.
i'm grateful for feeling full and not overeating to fill a void...let's hope it lasts a long long time!
initiative
my initiative ...in my own health care...in my job...in my relations; everything I have achieved is directly related to my doing it myself, yes with help, but the initial actions must happen internally
my partner, my friends, and even my family and learning what I can and cannot rely and expect from them
fire...to keep me warm, cook my food, and fuel my spirit
internet and technology...and the ability to turn it off when i choose

I am thankful daily, especially each morning, for my resolve over my nicotine addiction
Learning to let go of old habits and issues and striving for a better being
Learning to love my company and what I need to be a better compatriot at home and work and life
For friends and chosen family...i'm even grateful for the unchosen family, chosen before I was born for the lessons I continue to forge
For the optimism of a new year, of beginnings...may we remember that throughout the year while in the midst of numerous endings and evolutions

staying warm
sweetness, when it appears in my life, usually in ways i don't expect, which is, well...sweet!
movies arriving at my house today and dinner already made, just needs heating.
invitations, even if/when i can't make it.
choices, because they are always what we have, even when we can't see that.

HOLIDAZE
The miracles of modern science and the real miracle of antibiotics ...if we don't screw ourselves by overprescribing it!
For being old (and wise?) enough to not take the passive aggressive guilt-tripping comments that get directed my way...may I refrain from doing that to others.
For two weeks smoke free. Blessed be.
To new families and creating your reality...it really is possible to make the life you forsee.

monday
that i got to sleep in on another sunny brisk day - even though it's monday - my coffee's brewing and i have nowhere that i HAVE to be until this afternoon.
for a fun visit time with various people over the weekend. connecting, eating, laughing, shopping...it was all very nice.
for relationships that change over time and land in a happier more peaceful place.
for having enough and cherishing what i have.
for not being one of those people that is crazy busy over the holidays, shuffling myself here and there when i don't want to, for being thankful for the peace and easiness i am feeling this holiday season.

living in gratitude
I am grateful that I got to see my baby today and that being 40 doesn't have much to do with being healthy - I am learning that age is an arbitrary number and health is much more individual than that.
I am grateful for the yummy pho I had for lunch.
I am grateful for all of the compliments I received today.
I am grateful for the delicious chicken dinner that was made for me.

windy gray sunday
I'm grateful to Jen for being such an awesome friend/party planner/organizer/hostess/cook/and everything else I haven't mentioned. Thank you!

I'm grateful that everyone played so well together.
I'm grateful for having the opportunity to see people I haven't spent time with in a while and for meeting new people.
I'm grateful for the prenatal yoga community that I am beginning to connect with and for the teacher who told me to have more fun.

I am grateful to have found someone who loves me no matter how ugly, hormonal, doubtful, complaining, scared or crazy I feel and act - even when he is on the receiving end of everything he is gracious, generous and loving and I can't believe it.
I am grateful to have time to myself sometimes.
I am grateful for friends.
I am grateful that sometimes I have the ability to be objective.
I am grateful that I am learning.
enough time
i'm grateful for knowing that stillness bears fruit
i'm grateful for continuing to find clarity in a situation so murky
i'm grateful for knowing that there is time for change..enough time
and most importantly, i'm grateful to have been successful in staying away from retail establishments!

turkey thanks & forgiving
I am grateful for:
good friends, old friends, new friends...the whole lot
a drama-free turkey day with the "in-laws"
a warm, cozy, clean home - I appreciate all of my man's efforts to keep it this way
reminders - someone told me yesterday one of the keys to good relationships is to picture the person (mate, parent, friend, whomever) at their ultimate best self and always keep that picture in mind, even when you are feeling otherwise. I am grateful this was shared with me - a new thing to strive for and wouldn't it be just wonderful if people walked around assuming the best of each other rather than being judgemental?
I had another thought that has to do with worry. I find myself worrying about people I'm close to from time to time yet I absolutely hate it when people worry about me. I think it might be a better use of thought power, energy and "worry time" to picture people at their best and cloak them in light and positive thoughts.
I'm grateful I have a safe place to come home to every day.
giving thanks
thanks to all the people out there that i love, who love me, and even some of them who don't.
for taking time and figuring stuff out.
i'm thankful that i have the things i need to be comfortable, warm and safe.
and thanks to all of you for this practice.
groovy and peaceful gobbling!

I'm grateful for every ounce of sleep I get.
I'm grateful for my determination and I'm grateful for the people who encourage me to do and be more.

is it friday yet?!?!
that sarah, the annoying/whistling/humming/tapping girl who sits in the cubicle behind me is gone for two weeks.
for being good at my job and being given more responsibilities while the production supervisor is away (not sarah!) - can you believe this job, now at week 14 was a 2 day contract?!
for sleeping so soundly...i really needed it.
for giving myself a break and not beating myself up for exhibiting old behaviors while i change and continue to move forward into the new me.
for not smoking cigs (almost 4 weeks now), barely smoking pot, and hardly even drinking...my body's like, "What the....?!" ;)
(i'm not giving up pot and booze...just haven't really been indulging).

no glamour no glory
I am grateful for healthy leftovers, that I don't have to work while I'm pregnant, that I can't log in to see whether my stock has crapped out cuz my computer with the password hasn't been hooked up, for some lazy days, for my health, that my boyfriend doesn't want me to be a skinny girl, that he gives me nice compliments when I start feeling the size of a house, that he likes to clean more than I do, for the internet and for lots of movement from my baby.
rested not restless gratitude
my skin feeling so good after 1.5 hours at the kabuki yesterday.
time in the afternoon to cook - which i haven't done in ages - save pureeing

I'm grateful for projects that my bf and I can do together so we can learn new things about each other.
I'm grateful for specialists who can do the work for me.
I'm grateful that I'm not so attached to the savings that drain for the specialists, because I know it's work that needs to be done and the funds will somehow eventually replenish.
I'm grateful to be posting today.

I'm grateful that my honey waits up for me when I come home late. And that he likes to clean more than I do. And for many other traits that I won't mention right now.
I'm grateful for things finding their places easily and for having much more than I need. Time to start getting rid of even more stuff.
I'm grateful again for the economics of Freecycle. I got a free electric breast pump this week and the pickup was about 2 minutes from my new house!
I'm grateful that I had the parents I had. We had our own problems but I am always reminded how special they were and that they were great parents regardless. They did not try to live thier lives through me which cut out a whole layer of pressure and weirdness that lots of people have to deal with. Maybe it's because they were older and had already done lots of living before I came along. Or maybe it's because they kept up their own interests and lives even when they had a kid. Or maybe they were just cool like that. Whatever it was, I am grateful.

new blog on the dash
First-I am so grateful to have a new blog on my dashboard-and for it to be daily gratitudinals!
I am grateful that I can blog while I watch my sleeping kids in the car from the computer-else I'd never get to blog this week.
I am grateful that my kids love to tell me they love me and give me lots of kisses!
I am grateful that I get to be off on a friday with the boys even if that means going food shopping, winter coat for the kids shopping, and having to work on sat.
I am grateful that the garbage men came and did not wake up the kids sleeping in the car.
I am also supremely grateful for being able to be part of daily gratitudinals. It is nice to remember that I have a lot to be grateful for!

yo homies
- I am grateful that my move is now complete! Oh my f**king God what a pain in the arse.
- I am grateful I am getting tired after being awake for a couple of hours figuring out my email contacts.
- I am grateful for the peaceful seas, the mist, the company and the full circle feeling when I scattered my parents ashes yesterday. It was a cleansing, freeing and magical experience.
- I am grateful that the boat captain found my Venus of Willendorf pipe in the bottom of my dad's urn! how embarassing...
- I am grateful for another voice requesting access to gratitudinals.

Graditude
I am grateful for gratitudinals - even when i don't post I read and I am grounded while at work - it provides perspective and belief in the strength of many women
I am grateful that my Baby Blu was a great addition to the family and not like those horrendous dogs across the street waking everyone up with their continuous barking!
I am grateful for the opportunities to connect and find pleasure in the company of my own family
For inspiration, no matter where it is derived, that action may follow....

- crisp $100 dollar bills - not as fufilling as my bed, which I already miss very much, but I'm sure I can remedy this.
- every person who follows up their words with actions - do what you say you will do and don't waste my time with the rest
- dark morning downpours!
- every moment that my hand is not numb
- not getting cellulite or varicose veins like those ladies they talk about in pregnancy books - knock on wood
- change?

for the environment...
I'm grateful for...
- rain
- people following their passions and making grand comebacks, i.e. Al Gore. He is a glowing example of what can be achieved in the wake of failure.
- SF & CA policies on the environment
- having alternative ways to recycle - rather than throwing good stuff into the landfill, post it on freecycle - amazing what people will take!
- having what I need and working towards consuming only what I need and eliminating wasteful practices

More vs. Waiting
I am 10,000 times grateful for maternity health coverage that is better than my regular coverage and better than any I could pay for myself or through work. I am grateful for feeling so well taken care of through out this time.
I am grateful for email and the amazing web of the internet. If Al Gore really invented the internet (along with my father) then he should be elected king of the universe! :-) I want to name my baby after him...
I am grateful that I am moving and I am grateful for help with packing and carrying boxes. Interesting to be in this transitional space where everything is disjointed and split between here and there - it is motivating me to go faster but my body won't let me.
I am grateful for the soft October light as we go into winter. The air is crisp but gentle and the colors in thy sky are subtle and brilliant, the balance is perfect and it's all punctuated by Samhain/Halloween - there is nothing like October.

closeness
- craigslist & freecycle! freecycle is the coolest thing since sliced bread...whatever.
- my new bed! now I have two of the best beds in the world and if anyone sleeps over at my new home, they will get to experience the awesomeness of Swedish technology! and I will no longer be uncomfortable - yippee!
- my awesome darling baby-daddy
- being in a room full of pregnant women doing yoga! a male friend asked me if I feel bonded to every pregnant woman I see today - he's Jamaican and said he feels an instant bond with other Jamaicans. Unfortunately, there are a lot of skinny bitches out there who are pregnant. It's not like an instant earth-mother/cool pill or something. Marina chicks are still Marina chicks, preggo or not.
- expiration dates
- getting rid of stuff
- George Clooney on David Letterman - he's so cute!

differences
Yesterday, I took this glucose test and had heard it was absolutely disgusting and had made numerous people barf in response to the drink. It was written about extensively on bulletin boards and people gave me advice on which syrupy liquid to drink to make it better. I was dreading it. I got there, chose my poison and it was like drinking a really sweet coke. I left wondering why the hell this is such a big deal for so many people. For me it was a treat to get so much sugar in one shot! I won't even start talking about labor stories...I'm glad we are all different.
I am grateful for my life the way it is.
I am grateful for things that are easy.
I am grateful for my spiritual tools and practices.
I am grateful for my trip to Bolivia & Peru.
I am grateful for opportunities and life lessons.

- Today I am appreciating all forms of patience; my ability to be patient and also when others are patient with me.
- I am grateful for having space to take care of myself, for learning how to best take care of myself and grateful for people who listen and give me freedom to be me.
- I am grateful for trust that everything will be okay.
- I am grateful that things change. I appreciate the way things are now with the knowledge that everything may be different tomorrow and that will be okay.
- I appreciate today and am grateful for everything that happened.
- I am grateful my toilet has been fixed.
- I am grateful for blissed out toes.

- being able to choose and prepare food that is good for me; the worst part of traveling is too many restaurants and fast food joints (and never sleeping in my own bed).
- my body responding quickly to dietary changes
- East coast friends liking my boyfriend and telling me so - would anyone tell me if they didn't? Would it matter if they didn't? Probably not but I'm glad they do and it feels genuine.
- sleeping through the night
- feeling loved and supported
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Acutally, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I am grateful for the synchronicities that make life seem magical.
I am grateful for a spiritual community that continues to nourish me and has withstood many changes over many years.
I am grateful for the new life that is growing inside of me, and the new life that is blossoming on the outside: worn skins being shed to make way for what has been hidden.
I am grateful for warm, comfy beds everywhere!
Happy Autumn
the maturity I have gained which allows me to control my time and schedule according to my life...a healthful sense of selfishness
on learning that I might in fact be introvert as opposed to the extrovert I have been told my whole life I should be
combining work and fun
beach weather in the Fall - I guess there are upsides to global warming?!
a new perspective on Mondays...allowing me a fresh start each week.

Disappointed
I am grateful for community and seeing the difference belonging to a community can make in our lives
I am grateful for friends that put aside differences to support and respect the things that really matter
I am grateful for laughter, easing the tension and supplying respite from pain
the small touch, embrace or what have you that lets you know that people care for you and will watch your back
Meeting new people and keeping an open mind thus allowing for greater joy and compassion to enter my heart

Long Weekends
I am thankful that my dearest friend has found a wonderful and committed man in which to delve into the hopes and dreams of a future together...they're new love is an aphrodiasiac for those of us managing the trials and tribulations of old love.
A new job description, yes with more $, but more importantly, with trust and confidence to represent the organization on numerous fronts
oh the bother of such an abundant harvest!
to neighbors that are understanding when my dog keeps trying to eat their chickens...

The people we love
friends visiting and of course the precipitous house cleaning that only guests can unveil
for great friends which need little work b/c the love and respect abounds
for fresh flowers
all my meals, but especially homecooked ones
dreams and plans for the future, without which I could hardly survive.
ole!

living a life that matters...
LIVING A LIFE THAT MATTERS
Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
All the things we collected, whether treasured or forgot
Will pass to someone else.
Our wealth, fame and temporal power will become irrelevant.
It will not matter what we owned or what we were owed.
Our grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will disappear.
Our hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.
The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won’t matter where we came from or
What side of the tracks we lived on at the end.
It won’t matter whether we were beautiful or brilliant.
Even our gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of our days be measured?
What will Matter is not what we bought, but what we built.
Not what we got but what we gave.
What will matter is not our success, but our significance.
What will matter is not what we learned but what we taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, love, compassion, or courage
That enriched, empowered or encouraged others to live fully.
What will matter is not our competence, but our character.
What will matter is not how many people we knew,
But how many hearts we touched and how we loved them.
What will matter are not our memories,
But the memories that are alive in the ones we loved.
What will matter is how we will be remembered,
Not that we were perfect but instead, real human beings.
Living a life that matters doesn’t happen by accident.
It’s not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters,
A life that is authentic and real.
Oh that Kismet feeling
meetings that actually accomplish things
help from others
events to look forward to
another season sneaking in...

doing it for me
- I am grateful for the unexpected turns in my path and for where they have brought me today.
- I am grateful I had parents who loved me and who introduced me to all of the wonderful hobbies and interests that were meaningful to them: the things that had nothing to do with me but shaped me as a person.
- I am grateful for a totally relaxing weekend with no outside stresses to pull me away from being in the beautiful moments.
- I am grateful to have my hunny in my life.
- I am grateful for the unwinding poetry that brings me new understanding.
